Sand in the fingernails

Up on Dad's shoulders
Now I can see ANTARCTICA!
Pretty pebbles for my collection
MUM LOOK WHAT I FOUND!
Fish and chips
One more dip
Feeling sleepy
I'm not tired really
Dad carries me back to the car

Sand

Warm blanket in back seat
Pebbles in my pocket
Not .............. tired..........................................

Sand in the swimmers can be such a bear to put up with too.
ReplyDeleteBonjour chère amie,
ReplyDeleteVos photos dégagent une belle plénitude... On ne peut qu'être contemplatif devant un tel spectacle.
merci pour ce séduisant billet accompagné de jolis mots.
Gros bisous
gorgeous shots and I giggled at sand in my swimmers...
ReplyDeleteWilliam - especially that kind of gritty sand!
ReplyDeleteMartinealison - Thank you. I must admit I did get a bit contemplative by the water when I was taking the photos.
Lynn - yes sand in the swimmers was a bit part of my childhood. :)
Such wonderful verse to accompany the photos. Very creative indeed!
ReplyDeleteAh...great trip to the beach :) I especially like the see Antarctica line, being a Northern Hemisphere person!
ReplyDeleteThanks Carol. ^_^
ReplyDeleteNothing beats a day at the beach Melissa. In Australia one must be 6 years old or less and perched on dads shoulders to see Antarctica :-D
Un rivage à l'état brut.
ReplyDeleteOui, c'est ça :)
ReplyDeleteI very much enjoyed this. You bring back memories and make me remember the joys of childhood.
ReplyDeleteThank you for following my blog.
:)Hope
Thank you, that's what I was hoping to do. And you're very welcome :-)

Happy post! And love your photos. They're wonderful! :)
ReplyDeleteKarena: A holiday by the water is always so calming.
ReplyDeleteMary: Thank you. I tried to combine memories of my own childhood and times at the beach with my husband and daughter :)
You've captured the spirit of time spent at the sea splendidly here. As much as I do dearly love living in a town that's sandwiched by two big lakes (with plenty more to be in the surrounding area), sometimes this Vancouver born gal does still yearn for the sea. It's been many years since I was last at the oceans, but have plans in the works to remedy that later this year (fingers crossed).
ReplyDeleteBig hugs & joyful Easter weekend wishes,
♥ Jessica
