A pleasant afternoon always involves coffee, chocolate and lèche-vitrines.
After the somberness of the Conciergerie a strong coffee was needed.
And perhaps a chocolate fix.
What better place than Le Procope, providing good coffee and literary conversation since 1686.

Feeling restored, it was time to head off the beaten track.
And I spied a pair of shoes that I simply must have.
Afterwards a sit on the banks of The Seine to let all that coffee and chocolate settle.

Chocolate for me! An inviting place, and I really like the surroundings.
ReplyDeleteA very interesting place with many curious things to see. The staff are very friendly and don't mind us tourists wandering around taking photos (even a tour group came through at one stage) and the chocolate is excellent!

ReplyDeleteIt's a funny phrase that means window shopping but literally translates as window licking. Mind you I very nearly licked the window of the chocolate shop!

I did really enjoy teaching my daughter to knit. It rekindled such lovely memories of my mother teaching me to knit and I felt I was somehow passing the banner on so to speak.

DeleteOoohh, I have such a rococo decor soul! :) The rich, sublimely elegant reds and golds of the restaurant are so breathtaking! History like that is hard to find in a country as new as mine, so seeing it elsewhere always makes my old school heart swoon up a storm! Thank you for this lovely post, dear lady.
