Secret gardens

Wandering the garden of peace and tranquility,

we chanced upon a magic lake.

Beneath its stillness lurked a friendly monster,

who showed us the way to the floating garden.

  1. Bonjour,
    Gros bisous

  5. Very pretty water lilies, Debs! Also here's the info on the narrow focus: In the window photo there was lots of water blurring the glass, but the one branch was right up against the window so it remainder in focus. But in general, you want to work with your lowest aperture setting if your camera allows that. Most lenses have a low setting around f/5.6 or so, but you can get lenses with apertures as low as f/2.4 or f/1.8. When you photograph with this very low aperture setting, then only a narrow depth of field will be in focus and everything else will be blurry. If you don't have an aperture setting that small, then you can also achieve a similar result with a zoom lens. You can put your aperture at f/5.6 and stand back sort of far and zoom in on one particular flower. This will also blur the background quite a bit. Hope this will help; it's fun to play around with!

Thank you for stopping by and taking the time to comment. I do appreciate each and every one and will do my best to reply. I do apologise for the comment moderation I've been forced to put into place thanks to Mr Dark's spamming. It was not so much the spamming that bothered me - it was his appalling grammar.
