A memory of trees

Once upon a time there was a little girl who loved to climb trees

When life became difficult she would grab her favourite book,
and climb the tallest tree she could find.

There she would sit for hours,

swinging her feet,

feeling the breeze rustle the leaves,
listening to the birds,
and getting blissfully lost in Wonderland.

 The trees became her guardians,
her sentinels.

When she grew up, life became less difficult, and she had the warmth of her husbands arms, and the kisses of her own child to comfort her during times of trial.

But upon seeing these magnificent giants, she remembered her old friends,
and wished for young legs and a copy of Alice In Wonderland - just one more time.

  2. There's something wonderfully other-worldly about some of your posts. By the way, what Caedmon REALLY liked was a MacDonald's banana milkshake.

  4. I love Alice in Wonderland too! And where better to read it than in a huge tree. A lovely post.

  6. Faire le tour d'un arbre, en marchant sur sa base, sans mettre les pieds par terre. Un jeu sans fin pour un enfant.

  7. Actually that's what my daughter was doing when I took her photo :D

Thank you for stopping by and taking the time to comment. I do appreciate each and every one and will do my best to reply. I do apologise for the comment moderation I've been forced to put into place thanks to Mr Dark's spamming. It was not so much the spamming that bothered me - it was his appalling grammar.
